American born Aphrodite grew up in Israel from an early age. The first time she saw a belly dancer was while living in Italy.
The dancer was so beautiful that it made a very strong impression on 20 year old Aphrodite.
Studying fashion she started designing clothes inspired by oriental motifs and by the beauty of its shimmering dance costumes. It connected her to her childhood when she was always drawing beautifully attired princesses.
In the same year she met a girl who told her about a belly dancing school situated in her Jerusalem neighborhood.
While completing a B.A. in Social Work at the university, Aphrodite started dancing as a hobby, just as she has done from a young age taking ballet lessons.
After a year and a half she joined “Arabesque”, a professional group of belly dancers from the Holy City. She studied with many teachers and took workshops with international artists and expanded her studies to different dance forms such as flamenco and salsa.
Dancing professionally on the most celebrated stages of Israel,
Aphrodite began her solo career.

Today 28 year old Aphrodite performs all over Israel and teaches in Tel Aviv.
She has performed this year in Italy and will be performing again in Italy and the U.S. in October 2004.
For over seven years Aphrodite has devoted her love and passion to Oriental dance and especially the Egyptian style.
She is a full-time professional belly dancer and teacher, her dance combines beauty, gentleness, great skill and feeling.

Aphrodite is performing internationally this summer.
